Indonesia Economy Will Go 10 in the World


Jakarta - In front of the leaders of ASEAN countries and the European Union at the ASEAN-European Union Summit , the President of Indonesia Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, Indonesian State boast of economic progress which occupies position 17 in the world. The President also believes Indonesia will occupy the top 10 in the world.

"Indonesia is now number 17 largest economies in the world. Our goal is to occupy the top 10. We are very optimistic because the IMF had predicted the Indonesian economy not beat Australia in less than a decade ahead," President Yudhoyono said when opening the ASEAN-European Union Summit at the JCC, Senayan, Jakarta, Thursday (05/05/2011).

Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono also said Indonesia's economy has managed to get through the global economic crisis in 2008. "Our economy grew by 4.5% both in 2008 and rose to 6.1% in 2010. In 2011 we predict will grow to 6.3% and 7.7% in 2014," said Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.

In addition, Indonesia is also targeting the export value this year to penetrate the level of U.S. $ 200 billion. Or grow two-fold compared to 2006 which amounted to U.S. $ 100 billion. Total foreign exchange reserves was also through U.S. $ 100 billion, or may say this is the best achievement in the history of Indonesia.

"Our debt ratio also dropped from 77% in 2001 to 26% knew in 2010. The statistics mentioned above becomes an achievement that made Indonesia's debt ratings improve," said Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.

On the occasion, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono of Indonesia will be optimistic to achieve investment grade ratings in the near future on the basis of achievement that shows the growing traffic improved from time to time.

"In 2010 investment in Indonesia reached a record IDR 208.5 billion or U.S. $ 22.95 billion. This is a good achievement," he said.
